Upcoming strategy meeting - 24th Jan, 7:30pm @ The Magic Sponge

The board of the Leeds United Supporters Trust would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the offers of support that it has received over the weekend.

With the mandate that we have been given by our members and with the hope of being as inclusive as possible we are inviting everyone who would like to get involved and offer their support to come along to a strategy meeting to discuss the future of Leeds United and how we, the fans, can help shape our own destiny.

The meeting will be held at the Magic Sponge this coming Tuesday 24th January at 7:30pm.

Glad to hear it, hope the meeting is productive.
Can't be there myself as I live in London nowadays but as a fan and ST holder, I'll support whatever a democratic and majority opinion decides. It's the only way forward, our efforts thus far have been largely shambolic. We have to speak as one and someone needs to lead the charge. Fair play to LUST for stepping up.

I cant be there either but can I make a suggestion? Could someone use facebook and twitter to try to organise a demo INSIDE the ground during EVERY home match. My idea is on the lines of the tribute to Speedo at Forest ie on that occassion we used the time on the scoreboard to the 11th minute as a signal to show our appreciation of a great player. This time though we use the 7th minute (one minute for every year of this dismal regime) and at every home game we stand as one and turn our backs on the game for one minute.I think it could grow every game and put at least some pressure on the gnome.
Its a visible display of discontent that the media will latch onto but it doesnt ask anyone to either stand chanting in the street or to boycott the game ( having already paid for it via their season ticket of course!) just an idea ? Anyone willing to throw it into the mix tomorrow for me? Sorry I cant make the meeting . Good Luck.

Can't be there as I'm darn sarf for a few weeks, but I'll write my idea here in case anyone reads:

Why don't we start up a government petition to investigate Ken? Obviously, we'd have to organise the minutiae of it (and preferably get someone in who would write something good and targetted at something we might win with).

But either way, 100,000 signatures needed would probably be got within a week (month tops) and I'm sure there are politicians in the Leeds area we could convince to plead our cause. After all, the likes of Ed Balls has a tiny minority and the boundaries are being re-drawn which will see a dog-eat-dog fight for seats within the parties themselves. Politicians need all the exposure they can get and I reckon we could convince one or two to back us.

After all, accusations made by HMRC (I think) about Bates which haven't been adequately investigated would suggest he has illegally witheld £millions from the government in taxes and has acted against the interests of the stakeholders of LUFC and has also damaged the economy of the local community in a key city for the Northern economy.

Just a thought, but it should be relatively easy to set up, and would get us air-time on the news and you never know, we might get a breakthrough?
